The voting system doesn’t work because every country favours their neighbours. Maybe we should let Americans decide? That way they wouldn’t feel...

Are you cereal right now? – In one sentence Glee rewrites a large chunk of the second half of Season 2, as well as Dave Karofsky’s scene in The First Time, and a fair bit of Kurt and Dave’s character development, both individually and together - “So, you tormented me, shoved me into lockers, called me horrible names and hate-kissed me. Now, after one conversation in a bar, you want us to be together?” – Dave didn’t just go from bullying Kurt, to a brief and casual chat with him at Scandals and then to asking him out in a romantic sense – He reformed his ways, he helped Santana get rid of all bullying at McKinley, in order to made it safe for Kurt to transfer back to McKinley, he left Kurt alone, never harassed or bullied him again, he escorted him to and from classes so that he could protect him from being bullied and harassed by others, he broke down in tears, and gave Kurt a genuine apology, which Kurt accepted and took the time to make it clear to Dave that he doesn’t hate him and was there for support if Dave ever needed it, he was willing to dance with him at Prom, they obviously must have had some contact before Dave transferred schools, because otherwise Kurt would have asked what happened to him, may have been worried about Dave doing harm to himself after almost getting outed in Prom Queen, when he ran into Dave at Scandals he didn’t react with fear or contempt, he treated Dave like he was an old friend, he offered his support once again and let it be known that he wasn’t holding onto what Dave did to him, that he had moved on, and that he felt perfectly comfortable around Dave now – All that was erased with one line, erased and replaced with a new history between them – One where Dave bullied Kurt, never paid his dues, never made amends with him, never apologised, never felt remorse or guilt, a new history where Dave just ran away and then after a brief conversation about nothing more important than the weather at a bar, Dave’s now surprisingly asking Kurt out – Was rewriting their history really necessary in order to have Kurt turn him down? He couldn’t have just said no? You’re not my type? I’m already in a fulfilling relationship and am not looking to date anyone else at this time? Really? Rewriting and undermining their history and development was really the only option?
I would agree with this one.
kinda me too.
I had written a post after the episode about why I thought the writer might have done this, at least, why I would have written those words. I really felt that she was trying to make the point that they weren’t trying to sweep their past under the rug, or make it seem like Kurt had forgotten about it. Because it was followed up with Kurt saying that he liked Dave, that he was flattered by his interest, that he didn’t want him to go…well, I just felt like it was her saying to the haters “Once and for all, let’s settle this. Kurt is past all of that, obviously. I AM GOING TO MAKE IT AS OBVIOUS AS I CAN THAT KURT REMEMBERS EVERY TERRIBLE THING THAT DAVE DID TO HIM AND DAMMIT HE STILL LIKES HIM.
I’m not saying that my interpretation is the correct one. Just throwing it out there that I didn’t come away with the feeling that their positive history had been erased at all, because otherwise why would Kurt say those things and let Dave hold his hand, if not for the progress they have made?
IDK, it’s just my opinion. Just as valid or not as anyone else’s, i suppose. :)
TFMH, exactly what I have been thinking about it.
fuck away from Glee.
This. This entire post. Omg.
